MUMBAI : The Khallas girl of Bollywood, Isha Koppikar will next be seen in a web series titled Suranga which will premiere on Atrangii App on 9th December 2022. It’s a thriller set against the backdrop of a bank robbery. 

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Isha and spoke to her about Suranga, being nervous, and a lot more…

Tell us something about your role in Suranga…

I play Dakshyani, she is a new deputy manager of a bank. She wins everybody’s heart in the bank because she is caring and concerned about the problems of the local people who have accounts in that bank. The entire series is about a bank heist and it’s a real-life incident that we have depicted with some cinematic liberty. There are a lot of twists and turns, and when you finally come to know the suspense in the climax, it’s quite alarming.

Even after being in the industry for more than two decades, do you still feel nervous when a film or a web series is about to be released?

Yes, I do get jitters and butterflies in my tummy. But, honestly, I have also learned that one should not get married to their work. After a lot of experience and a lot of failures, I can say this because failures teach you that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. You have to move on. You have given your 100 percent, you have given your best; so, whatever happens after that is your destiny. Many films starring big superstars have also failed at the box office. Many movies that have made it to 100 crores were not expected to do well. You never know what will do well and what won’t. So, there will be nervousness today, but by tomorrow evening I will be fine.

When a project is offered to you what’s the one thing that makes you say yes to it?

First of all, you have to see who the producers are. The maker could be good, and it would have a good actor, but at the end of the day, the producer has to be good. He has to be a notable producer who will make the film, and release it because there are a lot of films that are made and don’t get a release. Once it has a notable producer, then of course the script and the role, and then the ensemble cast have to be seen.
