MUMBAI: Ever since Sanjay Leela Bhansali introduced the cast of his period drama series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, fans have been very excited. The film's first look video also left many jaw dropped and yesterday a little more was revealed about the characters. Having said that, there is a different level of excitement built around Sonakshi Sinha's character in the film.
She plays the role of Fareedan, and introducing her character with a new poster, the makers wrote, "Every gem has a past, and hers is one shrouded in mystery!"
At the poster unveiling event, Sonakshi also shared how it felt working with an iconic actress like Manisha Koirala, and she said, "The cliche answer would be I loved a lot working with her. She is such a wonderful person. But that is true. The body of work she has, the films that we've seen she is so respected, stunning, elegant. When I worked with her I realized what a beautiful person she is. There was a lot I got to learn from her, be it the way she conducts herself, it was a pleasure being in one frame with her and I hope I can do it again really soon."
Sonakshi looked stunning on the stage where she sported a pink traditional attire. This is the first time Sonakshi will be working with the maverick Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Heeramandi also stars Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hydari, other than Sonakshi Sinha and Manisha Koirala. The series will be released on Netflix India soon.
