MUMBAI: In the Hindi Film Industry’s world full of glitz and glamor, Karam Johar is the staple king of entertainment across mediums. His chat show, Koffee with Karan is undoubtedly one of India’s biggest and best talk shows of its kind.

Nudging and playing bring out the fun side of the favorite hot and happening Bollywood celebrities, with quick rapid fires and some controversies over the year, the charm of the show remains intact.

After seven successful seasons, the show is back with a bang for season eight, and what better way to start than, with reigning stars, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, making it their first official chat show experience as a couple in their five years of marriage. 

The episode was amazing, with a first-ever premier of their wedding video to major revelations and emotional moments, it was quite the start.

One such revelation came in as Ranveer was narrating that the duo had actually gotten engaged in 2015 and that they flew down to Bangalore right after to talk to Deepika’s parents about it.

He revealed that he had planned to sit the family down separately and talk to them, but because Deepika was nervous about it, she revealed the big news during a dinner with family friends and Ranveer said that while there were celebrations and people were happy, he could sense the undercurrents then.

He also hilariously narrated that he eavesdropped on Ujjala Padukone, Deepika’s mother, and Deepika’s conversation when got back to the Padukone’s Bangalore residence. 

And the most shocking bit, is that Deepika and her mother got in a big brawl about her accepting the proposal, going as far as to say, who is this boy? That has been proposed and that you have accepted also.

He also revealed that it took him quite a few months and possibly a year and a lot of hard work, to make his place in her heart and win Deepika’s parents' approval, because Ranveer’s parents already approved.

But all’s well that ends because he also revealed that he is possibly among one of the few favorite people of Deepika’s mother.

The show has had quite a start, it will interesting to see what other pairings come on the show—season 8 of Koffee with Karan streams exclusively on Disney Plus Hotstar.
