MUMBAI: You don’t need a wingman by your side when you have the monsoons to play cupid between you and your loved one. That’s exactly what one saw as they soaked in the romance watching ALTBalaji and ZEE5’s romantic drama Baarish that starred Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi. Seeing the chemistry between the lead pair, as Anuj and Gauravi, not only brought a smile to our face but made us want to be with our beloved and enjoy the rains to the maximum. Such was the simplicity to their characters that Asha won the hearts of viewers by essaying the character of a beautiful and simple Maharashtrian girl named Gauravi. On the other hand, Sharman too received plaudits aplenty for his role as a loyal and simple husband. The bond between the two felt as real as one could possibly imagine and there’s no surprise to see Asha Negi be in complete awe of her co-star.

Speaking about the bond that she shares with Sharman, a beaming Asha Negi says, “I am really happy and lucky to work with an actor of Sharman Ji’s caliber. While it did take a while for the two of us in season 1 to become friends, our rapport became so good while shooting that we just couldn’t wait for the second season to start. I would like to thank him for all the efforts he has put in to make me comfortable in every scene and lighting up the set with his humour and charm. What I really admire about him is the fact that one can never be sad when he’s around (Be it while just sitting or enacting a scene). I have found a beautiful friend while doing Baarish.”

An unusual tale between a middle-class girl and a rich businessman, Baarish embraces the roller coaster journey of life that strikes the right chord with viewers who always root for love. Starring a talented ensemble including Priya Banerjee, Vikram Singh Chauhan, Abhishek Verma, Anuj Duhan, Shubhangi Latkar, Benaf Patel and Sahil Shroff, it’s a delightful watch seeing the rain playing cupid once again in getting Anuj and Gauravi back together.
