Mafia Actor Saurabh Saraswat's short film Bittu gets nominated for Students Academy Award

MUMBAI : Actor Saurabh Saraswat who is from Ajmer. He has acted in award-winning feature film like CRD directed by national award winning director Kranti Kanade which is streaming on Netflix. He was also seen in feature film Cat Sticks directed by Ronny Sen. Recently he was seen in dark and suspenseful thriller Mafia on Zee 5 originals, essaying the character of Ritwik. His  short film 'Bittu' has got nominated for 'Student Academy Awards' which is directed by Karishma Dev Dube.

On sharing about the short film, "Set in a forgotten Himalayan community, this film inspired by an infamous school poisoning that took place in India in 2013. It follows eight year-old Bittu- combatant & charming, this little hero is unlike any girl in her village.Chand is Bittu's best friend and young protégé. Polar opposites but always a team- they play, steal, fight and hustle together - reciting dirty jokes for quick money in crowded bus stops. The natural performer Bittu excels at all things street level. At school things are different. On this day, the tension between the two friends escalates quickly, bringing their friendship to an end they'd never imagined."

On talking about his role, "I am playing 'Tariq' in the film. He is the teacher in the school where this incident takes place. He is very dedicated to his kids in school. Bittu and Chand are his favourites."

He further adds, "I am really excited about this. Student academy awards is a big deal. I really wish that 'Bittu' win the award for all of us."
