MUMBAI: On this Independence Day, it's time for us to remember and take pride in our Indian army, who on every instance, has proved to be the bravest, strongest and best in the business. Here we have some web series for you to relive the pride which the Indian army has carried through the years.

1.Jeet Ki Zid

Based on the life of a retired Indian Army special forces officer Major Deependra Singh Sengar, played by Amit Sadh, Jeet Ki Zid is a web series released on Zee5. It also stars Amrita Puri, Sushant Singh, Aly Goni, Gagan Randhawa and Mrinal Kulkarni. It has 1 season till now, which comprises of 7 episodes. It reveals journey of Major Deep Singh, who bounced back after getting paralysed waist below during the Kargil War. 

2. The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye

Directed by Kabir Khan, The Forgotten Army is based on the true events that took place in the Indian National Army (INA) led by Subhash Chandra Bose. It showed the struggles they faced during the India's fight for independence. It stars Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari Wagh as the main leads. The series came out in 2020 and is available on Amazon Prime Video.

3. 1962: The War in the Hills

Written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, 1962: The War in the Hills is based on the 1962 Sino-Indian War and stars Abhay Deol, Sumeet Vyas, Rohan Gnadotra, Mahie Gill and Akash Thosar in leading roles. The series was released in 2021 on Disney+Hotstar. It showcases battles fought in Galwan Valley and Rezang La, where 125 Ahir soldiers of the Indian Army had to defend against 3000 soldiers of People’s Liberation Army.

4. Avrodh: The Siege Within

The season 1 of Avrodh: The Siege Within, tells the story of the 2016 Uri attack, the following surgical strikes and the Indian Line of Control Strike in a form of web series, based on a chapter from the book India’s Most Fearless by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. The series is directed by Raj Acharya and stars Amit Sadh, Vikram Gokhale, Neeraj Kabi, Darshan Kumar and Madhurima Tuli among others. It was released in 2020 and is available on Sony Liv.

5. Shoorveer

Directed by Kanishka Varma and created by Samar Khan, Shoorveer features Regina Cassandra, Armaan Ralhan, Manish Chaudhari and Aadil Khan among others and is under the banner of Juggernaut Productions. It was released in 2022 and is available on Disney+Hotstar. It is the story of the formation of ‘Hawks’ by the Indian government, which is a joint force of Army, Air Force and Navy.
