MUMBAI : Prashant Narayanan has been a part of many interesting films and web series. He will next be seen in Kathmandu Connection season 2, and the actor is the new entry in the series as he was not seen in season one. 

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Prashant and spoke to him about his character, how he got cast in the web series, and more…

You were not a part of Kathmandu Connection season 1. So, tell us something about your role in the web series…

The character that I am playing has been referred to in season one many times. So, this time my coming in the second season is giving it a face. It’s a character of a guy named Wajid who is referenced on Dawood Ibrahim. Everybody has their version of Dawood Ibrahim, but I look at him as a powerful man who used to stay in Bombay, got humiliated, and he has gone off to some other place; out of sheer anger, he is planning something against the country. He is not a firangi who is doing something against the country, he is somebody, who has lived here in Bombay, he was thrown out, and now, he is trying to do something against the country from outside the country.

Were you cast during season 1 itself or did the casting happen later?

The casting happened much later. When I was shooting with Sachin (Pathak) and Siddharth (Mishra) for Rangbaaz at that time somebody said that they have something brewing in their mind. So, when it got confirmed then it turned out to be this particular part. I didn’t have any clue about what role these people are thinking of. It was surprising for me because after playing a cop with the same unit, I was playing Dawood Ibrahim’s role in the web series. So, that’s what I call a kick.

Do you have any scenes with Amit Sial?

Amit is an old friend of mine. But, in this web series, we are not sharing the screen. I know that he is a part of it, but I don’t know what he has done. But, he must have done a good job.

Kathmandu Connection 2 will start streaming on Sony LIV on 23rd December 2022.
