MUMBAI:   Sonakshi Sinha got a dream debut with Dabangg where Salman Khan wore the police uniform. Years later she featured in Rowdy Rathore where Akshay Kumar wore a police uniform. Very soon, Sonakshi herself will be seen in a cops avatar for the first time and she said that she has finally made her dad’s dream come true.

Sonakshi told a news portal that as a child, her dad Shatrughan Sinha told his friends that Sonakshi would become a police officer when she grows up. She seemed to have reached close to that when she took on the role of a cop in the upcoming web series Dahaad. She said, “I was looking for a powerful character for a long time. It's a very interesting character. There are fun elements too. I have played such an important character after a long long time. Abhi toh dil dahaad dahaad kar raha hai... Dil dhadak raha hai. Par excitement mein. (The heart beats faster due to excitement) The show marks my debut on the OTT platform as well. For the first time, the audience is going to watch me in a long format series.”

Sonakshi further added, “Papa bohat khush hai. (Papa is very happy). When I was a child, Papa used to tell his friends, 'My daughter would be a police officer'. So after donning the uniform, I sent him the first photo and told Papa, 'I have fulfilled your dreams...' He is very keen to watch the show.”

Dahaad is directed by Reema Kagti and created by her and Zoya Akhtar. It also stars Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah in crucial roles. It will premiere on 12th May on Amazon Prime Video.
