MUMBAI : On 11th June 2021 Zee5 brought to us an amazing series named ‘Sunflower’ featuring Sunil Grower, Ashish Vidyarthi, Ranvir Shorey, Girish Kulkarni, Mukul Chadda and many more. The series was directed by Vikas Bahl, Rahul Sengupta and Navin Gujral.

The season revolved around a quirky murder mystery in a housing society called Sunflower and a simpleton resident Sonu dives headlong into a murder mystery, ending up becoming the chief suspect.

Now the series has come back with a second season and this time a new member in the society has been introduced who is Rosie, played by Adah Sharma. Now this time the craziness has gone a level higher and the audience are loving Sunil Grover as Sonu. The audience review for this season has been great.

Team Tellychakkar got in touch with Sunil Grover where the actor got into a fun conversation and revealed some interesting details when asked about returning for the show after a long break, added pressure with the latest season and much more.

Since Sunflower is returning after a long gap for S2, how excited are you or are there any apprehensions of returning to this character after a break?

I am very excited and one of the reasons is that even I wanted to know the story as it was left at a cliffhanger in Season 1. A lot of people were asking me what happened to Sonu and who is the murderer. So many people asked me a lot of questions around the show and what happened to Sonu and finally all those questions would be addressed in this season. Since the launch of season 1 of Sunflower, wherever I have travelled, everywhere people who met me asked me about the show, the murderer and what happens next as they have been anticipating it for long. I am really glad that the show is ready to be released on 1st March on ZEE5, to take the audiences on a roller-coaster ride and answer all their questions."

Sunflower S1 was showered with so much love from the audience. Now with season 2 on its way, is there added pressure to meet the audience’s expectations?

Of course! People loved the first season of the show so the audience will have even more expectations from the second season. I think this season will also receive love and appreciation from the audience as they will enjoy watching the show throughout. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Why should people invest their time in watching Sunflower 2?

Because it's a good show, you will be entertained. It is a very well-made show. And I know it's my show, but I think it has class that one won't find that easily on any other show. There are not many shows like Sunflower.
