ON WHAT DROVE HIM TO SIGN THE HUNT:
"When you're offered a project of this scale, you can’t help but question your place in the larger scheme of things. You're tasked with portraying a story far greater than yourself," Sahil shared.
He went on to explain that what convinced him to come on board was the honesty in the storytelling and the integrity of the team. "There was no bias, no attempt to take sides. It was simply about telling the truth in a responsible manner. That gave me a sense of comfort and purpose. As an artist, I wanted to be part of something that doesn’t sensationalise events but presents them with dignity and balance."
Sahil, who hails from Tamil Nadu and vividly remembers the impact of the assassination, found the preparation both challenging and emotionally unsettling. "The research was eye-opening — a reminder that sometimes the truth is more shocking than fiction. This story had never been told with such depth and clarity before."
ON MEDIA COVERAGE OF CELEBRITY DEATHS:
Sahil didn’t hold back when asked about the media frenzy that often surrounds the death of public figures.
"It's absolutely baseless and disrespectful. Celebrities are human beings first. The way their deaths are covered by the media is deeply unsettling. When my time comes, I wouldn’t want to be sensationalized like that,” he stated firmly.
“There’s a grieving family involved. Where is the sensitivity? There’s a fine line between journalism and intrusion — and that line is being crossed far too often,” Sahil added.
With The Hunt earning widespread acclaim, Sahil Vaid’s performance has yet again proven his mettle as an actor who brings both depth and honesty to the screen. His candid reflections off-screen further highlight his thoughtful and grounded approach to both life and craft.
