MUMBAI: Prime Video’s newest reality sensation, The Traitors, has stormed onto the streaming scene with a gripping triple-episode premiere that’s left audiences hooked.
With its thrilling mix of strategy, deception, and mind games, the show has already delivered jaw-dropping twists both on and off screen.
The latest buzz surrounding the show, however, stems from a heated spat that has spilled over onto social media. Contestants Uorfi Javed and Sufi Motiwala have found themselves embroiled in a very public war of words, accusing one another of manipulation and hypocrisy in the wake of their on-show altercation.
The controversy began when Uorfi called out Sufi for allegedly playing the victim and dragging her sister, Dolly, into their on-screen disagreement. In one of her Instagram stories, Uorfi lashed out, stating, “Agar itni hi age kam hai to kyun aaye show pe?” She went on to defend her in-game accusation of Sufi being a traitor, citing it as part of the show’s premise. “I only called him a traitor — that’s the whole point of the game. Why did you accuse Raftaar, then? That was also a vibe, wasn’t it? This guy’s playing victim like there’s no tomorrow.”
Sufi, meanwhile, fired back with a strongly worded Instagram story of his own, branding Uorfi’s behaviour and narrative “ridiculous”. He wrote, “Uorfi Javed, I’m tired of your nonsense and your belief that you’re some wisdom-dispensing Mother Teresa.”
He went on to describe feeling isolated in the house, claiming that Uorfi unfairly influenced the group to turn against him. “Imagine the mental pressure of being in a house with 20 people, none of whom want to speak to you because Uorfi Javed has decided you’re a threat and all based on a vibe,” he added.
With tempers flaring and neither party backing down, the feud shows no signs of cooling off. If anything, it’s fuelling even more curiosity and chatter around The Traitors a show already built on tension and betrayal. As the game progresses, viewers can expect even more drama, both in the mansion and across social media.
