Recently released on platform Sony Liv, the web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, based on India’s biggest financial fraud committed by the conman Harshad Mehta was loved by people all over, the series was loved because of his detailed research work, and terrific performances by the leads, we all loved the web series but do you know much about the actor who played Harshad Mehta on-screen.

Pratik Gandhi is from Gujarat and started his acting journey with theatre and according to the Times of India, he was associated with the Gujarati theatre scene from 2004, until his debut in the Indian film industry with Bey Yaar in 2014. Before that, he also worked in an English movie called Yours Emotionally. Some of his notable works in theatre are Mohan No Masalo, Hu Chandrakant Bakshi to name a few.

The actor was an engineer who had also worked as a salesperson for some time and the actor was in school when he was introduced to the theatre world. The actor later moved to Mumbai chasing his dreams to be an actor, Surviving in Mumbai by acting in theatres alone wasn’t easy, so he took up a job as an engineer and used to juggle between the two.

Between 2004 and 2016 the actor was juggling among engineering, theatre, and live shows, However, post the success of his initial movies he decided to leave engineering, the actor did his early films by taking leave from an engineering job, then came a time when he had to choose between engineering and acting. And then he decided to become a full-time actor.”

The actor had worked in numerous movies including the National award-winning film Wrong Side Raju and Ventilator and Bollywood movies such as Mitron and LoveYatri.

The actor’s noticeable role was of Harshad Mehta in the series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta by Hansal Mehta and was loved by the audiences on a great scale.
