#Father'sDay: Bollywood’s hit dads and their flop sons

Bollywood
‘Paapa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karega…’ Well, for these Bollywood hot-shot dads, this song is utterly misplaced because their sons failed to live up to their famous fathers' names. From being one-film wonders to fading into oblivion right from the start to vanishing from B-Town, these star kids are nothing home to write about. But today, on Father’s Day, we take a look at all the sons who could have made it big, but didn't…read on: Amitabh & Abhishek Bachchan: As one of the biggest icons in the industry, Amitabh has the world eating out of his palm. But even that couldn’t salvage the sagging career of his only son, Abhishek. Despite being a decent actor, Junior B could never come out of the shadows of his legendary father and talented mother. What’s more, he’s married to the world’s most beautiful woman and doesn’t seem to be distressed about being the only flop of the family. Jitendra &Tushaar Kapoor: The Jumping Jack of B-Town has made us groove to his beats for decades now. But his son, Tushaar, could never replicate his dad’s magic on the big screen. He is mostly seen in his producer-sister Ekta’s movies. And it wouldn’t be surprising if he is cast in her wildly popular TV shows soon. Dharmendra & Bobby Deol: As the dream man of B-Town, he had everything going right for him. He married the dream girl, had fabulous films in his kitty, and was (still is) revered by all. The only glitch in his otherwise colourful life is his younger son Bobby, who couldn’t carry the Deol legacy ahead. While his elder brother Sunny has made a mark for himself, Bobby has failed to deliver it big in Bollywood. Mithun & Maha Akshay Chakraborty: Mithun’s fans range from kids to adults as he is a complete package. From fights to dance to emotional drama, he was a huge pull at BO during his times. But his son Maha Akshay couldn’t come even ten percent close to the success his father enjoyed. But he is still young and a good role can change his life around. *Fingers crossed* Nasseruddin & Imaad Shah: Coming from the stables of Nasser sahib, half your battle is already won. Isn’t it? But that doesn’t seem to be the case with his son Imaad, who’s not been able to land a breakthrough role in tinsel town. But we are hoping for a miracle soon. Are you guys too? Raj & Prateik: Raj Babbar’s meaningful cinema was a welcome respite from all the action flicks of his times. So when his son Prateik tried their hands at Bollywood, expectations were rather high. Prateik showed lot of potential in his debut. Unfortunately, he could not take the legacy forward. We are even more disappointed in Prateik as his mother, the legendary Smita Patil, was one of B-Town’s most precious actresses. Vashu & Jaccky Bhagnani: The Bhagnani brand of movies sell like hot cakes in our industry. From comedy to emotional dramas, producer Vashu has given us all sorts of hits. His son Jaccky, however, hasn’t been able to entertain us in any way. He is a good looking lad, whose choice of movies make us cringe. Let’s hope that his upcoming movie changes his fate! Kumar & Gaurav Kumar Taurani: Another biggie producer in this industry is Kumar Taurani, but the same can’t be said about his son Gaurav who made his debut as an actor a couple of years back. Rajendra Kumar & Kumar Gaurav: During his heydays, Ranjendra Kumar was known as Jubilee Kumar because his movies used to run for weeks at the cinemas. His restrained acting, charismatic screen presence and chemistry with his co-stars made him a popular star. It would have been perfect if his son could have carried the family name forward, but Gaurav was a one-film wonder who quickly vanished from the movie scene. Raj &Rajiv Kapoor: It’s said that those born into the renowned Kapoor khandaan are blessed with the ‘Bolly’ genes. Because every single member of the illustrious family has been a rage in the industry. Of course, not all members as Rajiv Kapoor failed miserable despite a sizzling debut in his father’s Ram Teri Ganga Maili Ho Gayi. Yash & Uday Chopra: Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d have come across all the memes on Uday Chopra! He is the younger son of Bollywood’s finest and grandest director Yash-ji. Even though both his father and brother Aditya are ace directors-producers, Uday couldn’t make his mark. Ouch. Firoz & Fardeen Khan: The dashing Firoz Khan was known for his charisma, charm and Greek god looks. He ruled Bollywood in his own way, while his son Fardeen could barely make his name in the industry. Shekhar &Adhyayan Suman: From TV to movies, Shekhar Suman had a wide reach, with his impeccable comic timing and acting chops. When he wanted his son to follow in his footsteps, Shekhar wasn’t expecting such a mediocre response to Adhyayan’s movies. Despite a number of controversies and launches, the latter couldn’t establish his place here. Whether they made it big or not, these sons will always be their fathers’ laadlas!
