At a screening of Lootera for political bigwigs held in Delhi on Wednesday evening veteran politicians L K Advani and Amar Singh who otherwise don’t see eye to eye, agreed on one thing. That Sonakshi Sinha was absolutely spell-binding in the film. Other political bigwigs like Praful Patel and Yashwant Sinha were also present at the screening. Proud parents Shatrughan Sinha and Punam Sinha who had specially flown in to Delhi for the screening just couldn’t stop smiling. Apparently Advanji, a known movie buff, was heard asking his fellow BJP-member Shatrughan Sinha about Sonakshi’s whereabouts. Says Sonakshi’s mother Punam, “There were very prominent politicians and bureaucrats at the screening. Everyone wanted to know where Sonakshi was. My daughter, poor thing, has been running around promoting two back-to-back releases. She just couldn’t be present at the screening.” There were some tense moments during the screening when the much-discussed love-making sequence cropped up in the film. Says a source, “Shatruji had been hearing about the love-making scene. But he was confident that Sonakshi would never do anything to embarrass herself or the family. And he was right. He found the sequence very aesthetically done.”
