MUMBAI: Actor Naseeruddin Shah, known for his flawless contribution to cinema, was wheeled into a city hospital two days ago. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. There was a patch found in his lungs for which he is undergoing treatment currently. His family - wife Ratna Pathak Shah and kids - are by his side. Early today, soon after filmmaker Raj Kaushal passed away following a heart attack, a word about Naseeruddin Shah also went viral. 

On several occasions previously, his name was flashed in the news in a similar manner, although he was completely healthy on all of those occasions. This time, however, news of his hospitalisation turned out to be true. His manager quoted "He has been in the hospital for two days. He's under medical supervision. He was brought in for Pneumonia. There was a patch found in his lungs and it became necessary for him to be hospitalised immediately. His condition is stable and he's responding well to the treatment."

Shah, as the industry fondly addresses him, has been in the business for several years, fanning the parallel cinema movement in a big way. The seventy-year-old actor has also dabbled in theatre and mainstream Hindi films apart from doing crossover cinema among other things. His family, his fan following and everyone else wishes him a speedy recovery.
