Shahid was asked about how he deals with the low phase of his professional career. The actor said, basically we all are in the same boat in life. We all have our dreams and we all have aspirations and we all have our struggles. So, I don’t think it is nice to indulge in self-pettiness, it is the most dangerous thing that any human can do. Because the only thing it does is it takes you down. It doesn’t help you to deal with the situations. But it is beautiful to share those struggles. It's beautiful to know that it is possible. If you believe a lot of things are possible. If you truly believe in and if you perceive a lot of things in life are possible. I am speaking from experience and I am sure everybody has their own journey. I guess that is what the cinema is all about. It's about taking those stories out there which everybody can relate to. And I think the heart of Jersey is that, so when I saw the original movie, I kept crying. I was uncontrollably sobbing. We hope we have been able to do justice to the film but the story is so beautiful that it deserves to be taken forward. And I connected with it deeply. We have to go through all phases of life.

He further adds what I love about this film is that usually when you make emotional films they can sometimes make you feel low. But in this film it is a celebration of those emotions. You feel uplifted which is very rare. In this kind of film it's very rare to find a film which uplifts your experience even though you are emotional. I remembered that I felt like that when I saw Taare Zameen Par. So, I think some of the best films bring those memories to you and if you get to be the part of those stories which has that potential it feels very special.
