Ness has landed in a huge mess. His former girlfriend and actress Preity Zinta with whom he co-owns Kings XI Punjab, filed a complaint with the Marine Drive police station alleging molestation, yesterday night. Preity had filed an application in Thursday which was converted into a FIR on Friday. Based on Preity's complaint, the police have invoked the following sections against Ness Wadia - Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. The alleged molestation incident, according to Preity, happened on May 30th in Wankhede stadium in full public view. In the FIR, Preity stated that Ness hurled abuses at Preity during the KXIP vs CSK match at Wankhede Stadium. Seeing the situation worsening the actress decided to leave midway and the moment she got up Ness allegedly held her hand and tried pulling her towards him. When she resisted, he allegedly abused her in full public view by saying, “You f **** g b***h, you have shown your class, f **k you f **k you.” When Preity's friends and team officials intervened, Ness is alleged to have abused them too. "Even when he was dragged away, he kept screaming and threatening me," Preity has reportedly mentioned in the FIR. Preity and Ness were a couple for nearly five years. In fact, so close were they that Preity had no problems in acknowledging Ness as her boyfriend. Preity while at the top of the game took a break from films to focus on cricket and learn the intricacies of business as she always believed that she would be the daughter-in-law of the Wadia group which runs one of the biggest conglomerates of our country. Problem however lay in the form of her future-mother-in-law, Maureen Wadia, who hated her from the word go. In fact, she was never eager or excited about Preity's presence in Ness's life and is believed to have been the thorn in their relationship. Ness then dumped Preity allegedly at the behest of his mother, leaving Preity completely shattered. While both have remained friends more or less, making court appearances together, Preity's complaint yesterday came in as a shocker. Sources close to Ness say that Preity couldn't digest the fact that Ness had moved on and had in fact started seeing someone. Ness and the girl in question got close during this year's IPL seeing which Preity was left in shambles. Sources vouch that Preity is trying to eke out as much as juice as is left from her erstwhile personal association with Ness. Ness meanwhile issued an official statement saying, “I am shocked at the complaint and the allegations made against me are totally false and baseless.” Meanwhile, the Marine Drive police are yet to arrest Ness. Police sources say that arrest would only be made only after police investigation reveals something substantial. For the moment, police are scrutinizing the evidence of the alleged incident which happened on 30 May.
