Ranbir Kapoor's bodyguards allegedly assault Mumbai Mirror's photographer

Ranbir Kapoor
It's goondaism at its best. Photojournalist Sachin Haralkar, employed with Mumbai Mirror was allegedly assaulted by beefy bodyguards of Ranbir Kapoor for clicking his pictures while the shoot of Bombay Velvet was on. Sachin is said to have filed a police complaint accusing the bodyguards and bouncers of Bombay Velvet of manhandling him while he was on duty yesterday. The incident is believed to have occurred at Dadar Parsi colony late in the evening, during the shooting of Anurag Kashyap’s above movie. Sachin snapped Ranbir in his new look that the producers of the movie have been zealously guarding. Sources say that Sachin was manhandled by the bouncers who tried forcing him to delete the pictures. The filmmakers however have a different story to tell. Madhu Mantena, one of the producers of Bombay Velvet, was quoted saying that the production crew took the lensman to the police station since he was clicking pictures without any permission. Madhu claims that Sachin slapped one of the security guards outside the police station and fled only to return later to file a complaint. We spoke to a senior lensman close to the development who on the condition of anonymity told us that it was the normal dhakka mukki (pushing). “I don't think he was injured. He was pushed and shoved which is usual. Yes, the guards did rain a few kicks while he was on his bike which perhaps prompted him to file a complaint. And since a complaint was lodged, a medical check-up had to be done to access if he was okay.” The struggle between filmwallahs and photographers is a long standing one. While filmmakers try their best to guard the look of their lead actors to retain the element of mystery, they have not been able to keep smart paparazzi at bay. Sometime back, a city tabloid had published pictures of SRK and Deepika's look from Happy New Year which reportedly made SRK see red. Sources reveal that an enraged SRK issued strict orders to his security staff that anyone clicking pictures on shoot location should apparently be strictly dealt with. We tried contacting Sachin for his side of story but he remained unavailable for comment. Meanwhile, Bombay News Photographers Association condemned the attack on the photojournalist.
