MUMBAI: Dhadkan starring Shilpa Shetty, Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty directed by Dharmesh Darshan has been ruling over viewers’ hearts over more than two decades now. This month, Sony MAX2 is all set to take the audiences on trip down memory lane with Dhadkan, a simple & relatable romantic musical drama centred on complications in love and families.. Believe it or not, even after all these years, this film continues to be an all-time favourite of many. Be it the romantic songs or the beautiful locations, here are a few reasons that make the movie a must watch even today –

Its remarkably beautiful songs – Dil Ne Ye Kaha Hai Dil Se by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu is a straight up one of the most romantic songs of recent times. Arabic notes being about the beauty of the song along with the undoubtedly brilliant composition, making it one of the best songs in the album. Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan Ho sung by Abhijeet is another song that leaves you overflowing with emotions. The tune of the piece is what makes it immortal. Lastly, Aksar Iss Duniya Mein sung by Alka Yagnik is another song from the album that is loved by many! 

Its unforgettable Dialogues – “Main tumhe bhool jaon yeh ho nahi sakta
Aur tum mujhe bhool jao yeh main hone nahi doonga”, Irrespective of having watched this movie or not, you would have definitely heart this dialogue! It is one of Suneil Shetty’s most famous dialogues. Also, how can we forget Akshay Kumar’s iconic, “Nafrat ko sirf mohabbat se jeeta ja sakta hai, sirf mohabbat se”. The movie is power packed with such well thought out dialogues that don’t just stick with you for days, but years. 

Phenomenal acting and ever so beautiful shooting locations – One big reason behind the film’s success is undoubtedly the performances delivered by the incredible actors. Both Shilpa Shetty’s and Mahima Chaudhry's performance were among their best ever. The film received 11 nominations at the 46th Filmfare Awards, including Best Film and Best Director for Dharmesh Darshan and Best supporting actress for Mahima Choudhry. It also gave the title of decade’s ‘best villian’ to Suneil Shetty. Moreover, the film has captured the beauty of Switzerland, Italy and Germany. The locations add that extra oomph to the entire experience of the movie.
