Salman Khan replaces Atif Aslam in Notebook after Pulwama terror attack

MUMBAI: After the horrific Pulwama terror attack, Bollywood star Salman Khan has replaced Pakistani singer Atif Aslam in his upcoming film Notebook.

The deadly incident took place on 14 February 2019 when a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a 19-year-old Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist, carrying 350 kg of explosives, in the Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The attack killed more than 40 CRPF personnel and injured several others.

The gruesome attack shocked the entire nation, and common people as well as people in position condemned the act and expressed their anger on social media. All Indian Cine Workers Association announced a total ban on Pakistani artists from working in India. The AICWA letter read, "All Indian Cine Workers Association strongly condemns the brutal terrorist attack on our soldiers at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. AWCWA stands with the nation in confronting such terror and inhumanity. We're officially announcing a total ban on Pakistani actors and artists working in film industry. Still, if any organization insist on working with Pakistani artists will be banned by AICWA and strong action will be taken against them.”

Salman, according to latest media reports, has asked his production house Salman Khan Films (SKF) to replace singer Atif Aslam from Notebook, which is directed by Nitin Kakkar and stars newcomers Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl.

Nitin said to media that most of the film's scenes are being shot extensively in Kashmir as the narrative demanded a picturesque backdrop. Take a look at the first poster of the film which has been shared by Salman Khan recently:
