MUMBAI: Alia Bhatt and the team of Gangubai Kathiawadi recently launched the trailer of the film. The trailer received massive positive responses from the fans, but there was a certain section of the audience who wanted to boycott the film. #BoycottGangubaiKathiawadi trended on the social media platforms. The fans of Sushant Singh Rajput are still waiting for justice to be served for the late actor. Post the release of the trailer of Gangubai Kathiawadi, SSR fans trend to boycott the film. They even went on to say that Alia Bhatt is not the correct choice for the film. Some even said that Alia Bhatt should not be in the film as she can’t pull off the role of Gangu. The fans wanted Kangana Ranaut to play Gangubai’s role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film.

Earlier the fans of SSR had successfully boycotted Alia Bhatt’s movie Sadak 2, which turned out to be one of the most disastrous films of Alia. In the same way, the die-heart fans of Sushant want to boycott her upcoming film too.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Jayantilal Gada and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film also has Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles. Ajay Devgn features in an extended cameo appearance. The film will have its world premiere at 72nd Berlin International Film Festival to be held from 10 to 20 February 2022 and will release in theatres on 25th February 2022.
