Suniel Shetty Reveals the Reason Behind Saying 'Yes' to Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath: This film gives out the message of unity, that we are one as Indians

MUMBAI: The much-awaited trailer of Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Sooraj Pancholi starrer Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath is out and is packed with Dharma and the quest to save the famous Somnath temple from invaders in Gujarat. During the trailer launch event, Suniel Shetty opened up about playing the role of fearless warrior Vegda Ji, and revealed the reason behind giving a nod to the historical drama.

Suniel Shetty shared, "There was everything in this film, and hence, I said yes to it. There was nothing for which I would have to say 'no' to it. It speaks about our Dharma and nation. Sanatan Dharma has taught us Dharma, Karma, and Seva. And this is exactly what this film depicts. It asks, 'Who are we?' We stay quiet and tolerate everything until we are provoked. Exactly like it's happening right now. The government is doing an impressive job, Article 370 has been imposed in Kashmir, and there's so much progress, and unfortunately, many people are wishing that the progress does not take place."

He adds, "This film gives out the message of unity, that we are one as Indians. This film tells the story of Hamirji Gohil, the Somnath temple, and the times thousands of invaders tried to loot the temple, however, they failed in front of hundreds of us. Hats off to Kanu Chauhan for thinking about this subject and fulfilling the dream of your late wife. I recall the time when I asked the reason behind casting me because we don't sell now. People will have to purchase tickets to watch us, but you responded, saying that you only see me as Vegda."

"I would also like to highlight that we are not speaking of the box office. We are talking about the small attempts made by Sooraj, Akanksha, Prince Dhiman, and the cast, to do something that we are passionate about, and praying that this film will work. And it only showcases India, culture, the beauty of the people, then and even today," he concluded.

Kesari Veer: Legends Of Somnath revolves around unsung heroes who fought valiantly to save the Somnath temple in Gujarat in the 14th century AD. Featuring an ensemble cast led by Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Akanksha Sharma, and Sooraj Pancholi, Kesari Veer is directed by Prince Dhiman, produced by Kanu Chauhan under the Chauhan Studios banner. A Panorama Studios worldwide release, the film promises a thrilling blend of action, emotion, and drama, set to captivate audiences worldwide on 16th May 2025.
