MUMBAI: Hansal Mehta started his career in television with his show Khana Khazana (1993–2000) and later moved on to films like Jayate, Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar, and Chhal. He is best known for Shahid for which he won the National Film Award for Best Direction. He then went on to direct City Lights, Aligarh, Simran, Omerta, and Scam 1992.

Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon is indeed one of the most loved and followed actresses we have in Bollywood. With her acting contribution, she has made a strong mark not only at the box office but also in the hearts and minds of fans. Ever since her debut with Tiger Shroff in the movie Heropanti, she was the talk of the town because of her looks and talent.

Recently, Kriti was being considered to play the lead role in T-Series’ upcoming biopic on Meena Kumari. Now, a portal stares that the director of the project has been locked in, and it's Hansal Mehta.

A source said, “Hansal has made acclaimed movies like 'Shahid', 'Aligarh', 'Omerta' and 'Chhalang' and the makers feel he is the right man to helm the Meena Kumari biopic.” After the success of the web series 'Scam 1992', Hansal’s reputation of being a strong storyteller has made him a sought after name.

Furthermore, Kriti Sanon is still in talks over finalising her signature for the Meena Kumari biopic. After the success of 'Mimi', Kriti too has become a sought-after name for filmmakers wanting to tell challenging stories on the silver screen.

After her recent release Bachchhan Paandey, Kriti has a slew of interesting projects lined up. She will be seen in Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Adipurush’, horror-comedy ‘Bhediya’ opposite Varun Dhawan, and ‘Ganapath’ opposite Tiger Shroff.
