Sushant Singh Rajput Demise: Richa Chadha says, 'Attack on late actor's family, friends have made things worse'

Richa Chadha shares her two cents on the ongoing debate; says she was never favoured by any insider and doesn't seek their validation either.

MUMBAI: Not very long ago, Richa Chadha, in her long blog, stated how the film industry is divided between kind and unkind people, irrespective of their stature as an insider or an outsider. The actress also cherished her fond memories with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, while also making several other revelations. Now, in an interview with India Today, the Fukrey actress shared her further experience of being an outsider and how she was treated by insiders. Richa also opened up on Sushant Singh Rajput's family and how they are not getting the time to grief due to all the mess that is happening around.

"Where I stand on this insider-outsider debate is that, like in the rest of the world, the death of nuance is being played. I am an outsider and I was hired for my first films by outsiders. I was never favoured by any insider club. I also don't seek their validation because our ideas of cinema are so different. Like I said in my blog, the only difference I find between the insiders and outsiders is that some people are kind and some are not," said Richa. Opening up on Sushant's demise, she said, "In the aftermath of Sushant's death, we haven't got the time to grieve properly. The attack on Sushant's family and friends have made things worse."

"There is no pro-Sushant or anti-Sushant. In this perspective, what Mr Shekhar Suman said turns out to be correct. If the family is silent, we should respect them and give them the space to grieve because we cannot even begin to fathom their pain. Which is why I want to make use of this platform and suggest some tangible ideas. But the question is are people serious about change or this has become a battle of egos," added Richa.

Sharing her two cents on nepotism, Richa added, "Nepotism can't be blamed solely when there are so many failed star kids in front of us and so many successful outsiders. I own my entire career to outsiders."
