Why 'Loveyapa' Feels Like Khushi Kapoor’s First Film — And That’s a Compliment

Loveyapa

MUMBAI: Khushi Kapoor made her much-talked-about OTT debut with The Archies, which was followed by her big-screen outing with Loveyapa. In an interesting turn came another OTT film - Nadaaniyan - which was shot earlier but was released in between. As Loveyapa makes its OTT debut, the viewers are noticing a complete picture - making the film feel like a true breakout for Khushi.

Khushi Kapoor's Nadaaniyan was loaded with youthful charm. Considering that it was her earliest work, her performance is still creating a space of its own. On the other hand, Loveyapa showcases Khushi Kapoor in a more confident, settled, and in sync with her bubbly character. Now, it's not surprising that the conversations and chatter surrounding Loveyapa's OTT release is different. Khushi's on-screen authenticity is being labelled as her 'real arrival' as she carried forward her experiences of working in The Archies and Nadaaniyan only to tap into her full potential and serve a complete picture of herself. In Loveyapa, Khushi brought the lively aura from The Archies, and an impeccable emotional range from Nadaaniyan, to put on a display of the bubbly girl in Loveyapa.

The rom-com carries emotional undercurrents wherein Khushi Kapoor brings her softness that feels real and not manufactured. She creates a noticeable sense of ease in front of the camera, making her delivery smooth, and comic timing just right.

It's more vital to note that this is not a comparison to pit her films against each other. Instead, it's a look at Khushi Kapoor's upward graph - a promising artist who is in motion, who is evolving, experimenting, and growing. Loveyapa solidifies Khushi Kapoor as an artist who has stepped out of her debut tag and is making her voice heard. More than a launch, it feels like Khushi Kapoor is making a statement that she's here to build and get better.
