What could be more disappointing than not being able to apply mehndi on the occasion of Karvachauth? But actress Nupur Alankaar could not do so as she plays the role of a widow in Rubi.
Nupur says, “I religiously observe fasts on Karvachauth every year and I love to put mehndi on that day. But this time I was told not to as my character in Rubi is that of a widow. I finally cajoled and convinced them but on strict conditions that it will not be seen on camera. So I applied it in the centre of my palm and on my feet but not before informing my production team.”

But weren’t there rumours of a snap in ties with her husband? Nupur informs, “I had called up my mother-in-law to take her blessings a day before Karvachauth and it seems she had informed Alankaar about my fast. My husband came to meet me and it was after that that I broke my fast.”
Hope the couple lives happily ever after!
