Top 10 Item Songs of 2015

Whether you label the songs sexist, high on flesh factor or simply loud, these hold a special place in Bollywood. From top actors to item girls, everybody has tried their hands at this genre. We take a look at ten of the sassiest numbers 2015 has given us…read on:

Kundi Mat Khadkao (Gabbar is Back):
The sultry siren of B-Town, Chitrangada Singh, set the screen on fire with her luscious thumkas in this number. Is it any wonder that this song has become a pub favourite?

Fashion Khatam (Dolly Ki Doli):
In her hubby’s venture, how can Malaika Arora Khan not strut her stuff? The gorgeous girl shook it like she meant in the song Fashion Khatam. Even though the movie was nothing much to write home about, this song created the right waves across the nation.

Mera Naam Meri (Brothers):
Kareena Kapoor-Khan, in a svelte avatar, gyrates for Siddharth Malhotra in this action-packed flick. Bebo’s lithe body, wet and tousled hair, flawless makeup and livewire expressions take the item song to another level.

Calcutta Kiss (Detective Byomkesh Bakshi):
Perhaps not an item song in the true sense, but this ditty is a perfect ode to vintage performances. Loren Goutileb comes alive on the screen as a 70’s siren. Win!

Paani Wala Dance (Kuch Kuch Locha Hai):
An itsy-bitsy bikini, a sexy pout and the buxom Sunny Leone are all it takes to turn any song into a dance anthem. Such is the case with this fun gaana too.

Afghan Jalebi (Phantom):
In smoky eyes and her hair kissing the wind, Katrina Kaif is a vision in this chartbuster. Her smouldering good looks and the foot-tapping beats make this song a must-listen.

Madamiyan (Tevar):
The super-hot Shruti Haasan sure knows how to raise the temperature even higher with her jhatkas and matkas.

Aaj Raat Ka Scene (Jazbaa):
While the song is a little forced in the scheme of things in the movie, it does make for a cool dance anthem. At least Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, who plays a feisty lawyer in the movie, didn’t start dancing in the middle of an investigation. Phew!

Girls Like To Swing (Dil Dhadakne Do):
The movie might have tackled unconventional stuff, but the item song routine was rather conventional. We aren’t complaining because Anushka Sharma looked like a dream in this song!

Shakira (Welcome to Karachi):
Another Lauren number saw the American dancer show off her skills. Even if the song didn’t really become a top-charter, it gave us dance goals for sure.
