Meet the eldest daughter of the Shastri family, Neha Pednekar of Colors’ newly launched show Shastri Sisters produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms. In a chat with Tellychakkar.com, Neha aka Alka Shastri talks about her character and more… She shared, “I am a very independent girl in real life but my character of Alka is totally opposite. She is very shy and introvert so it’s fun and challenging for me to portray this role. In the show I have a secret love connection with Rajiv (Sumit Verma) and it will be challenging for me to move from Kanpur to Delhi with my family.” How did you begin your career in television? “I started my career with advertisements and hairstyling. I have also done hairstyling course to become a master in it. I never wished to become an actor but destiny had some other plans for me. I had few friends in the television industry and they told me to try and audition for TV shows. I auditioned but faced lot of difficulties. I lacked in confidence and my skill of dialogue delivery was weak. But then I worked on it and tried getting better.” How did you bag this show? “I got to know about Shakuntalam coming up with a new show hence I auditioned for it and within three days I got a call saying I was selected for the serial. I was overjoyed but I am not used to the lifestyle of working day and night.” If not an actor what would you have been? “If not an actor I would have been an entrepreneur.” All the best Neha!
