Raj Kumar, the Gyaan Guru of Roadies X1 cannot simply stay away from controversies.. Or should we say that controversies come in search of the man!!
Well, after holding the distinction of picking up the maximum number of fights with contestants in his season of Roadies, the guy recently bagged the prized opportunity of being the face of Yash Raj Productions’ first-ever commercial ad. However, things did not work his way yet again..
Well, the commercial we are talking about, is the Yepme.com ad which got banned in just 4 days of airing!!
For those wanting to know the reasons for the ban, here you go!!
Raj shared screen space with actress Riya Chakraborthy of Mere Dad Ki Maruti fame for the ad. Raj played the character of a designer in it, and in quick time, it got popular during the World Cup fever few months back, when it was frequently aired on Star Sports.
But in just four days time, the ad was pulled off owing to the heavy and controversial script involved. The lines where Raj said – ‘Humari country main bhikari bhi fashionable hote hai’ did not go along well, thus causing its ban.
Talking about his face-offs with controversies, Raj told us, “Yes, it is true that my ad for Yepme.com got banned. Whatever happened was little sad, but I am happy that I got the opportunity to work with Yash Raj Films. Now, I wish to work in their movies (smiles).”
But moving ahead, Raj stated, “I now want to strike ‘gold’ as an actor. I have had the backing of a solid theatre experience for the last four years. I now want to be known as a successful actor.”
