Highlighting social issues like child trafficking and girl child education, Zindagi brings to its audiences another widely acclaimed story called Nanhi. A thrilling drama written by Mona Haseeb and produced by Iqbal Ansari, the story of Nanhi captures the emotional turmoil of an innocent young girl who has grown up with a belief about the world that is far from its reality.

The show which started beaming on 14 January, promises to engage its viewers with an inimitable storyline.   

Essaying the central character Nanhi is the charming actress Sajal Ali. The show also has an ensemble of well-known actors like Asma Abbas, Shahood Alvi and Javed Sheikh amongst others. 

Commenting on the project, Priyanka Datta – Cluster Head, Zindagi and Zee Anmol said, “Zindagi has promised to showcase some of the best shows from across the globe. Nanhi is very unusual and poignant story.” 

It will air at 10:20pm Monday to Saturday and is the story of a sheltered fifteen year old girl who has been brought up by Shamoo tai, a mid-wife that steals new born babies from the hospital that she works at and trades them for money. To ensure that her child trafficking secret is kept safe and so that she has someone to take care of the children while she is at the hospital, Shammo tai  keeps Nanhi locked up at home. Nanhi, who has grown up caring and tending for the stolen babies, develops an unhealthy obsession with babies and wants a child of her own as she is tired of taking care of babies that are eventually given away to others. The story begins to unravel when Shammo tai accidently kills one of the new-born while trying to evade police investigation. 

Will Shammo tai ever get caught? Will Nanhi get her freedom and her heart’s deepest desire?
