People like Laxman do not exist in real life: Karan Suchak

Karan Suchak

After portraying powerful characters like Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Savitri, Pavitra Rishta, Mahabharat and Singhasan Battisi, Karan Suchak is currently enthralling all as Laxman in Siya Ke Ram.

Talking about his character, the actor said, “I was always interested in Laxman rather than any other character in Ramayan. When I was working in Mahabharat somewhere I knew the channel will want to get Ramayan too. People won’t believe but I actually dreamt of getting a chance to play Laxman as it is one of the most complicated characters in the series.”

“When we talk about Laxman he was very emotional and his feelings for Ram were too sensitive and he was also short tempered. I can relate to his nature. The sacrifices that Laxman did for Ram were beyond limits and no one in today's world would think about leaving his wife for brother so if you ask me if such relationship exists today I would say, no it doesn’t,” he quipped when we asked him how much does he relates to his role.

Mention him that there are quite a number of pros and cons doing a mytho, he stated, “ There are more advantages doing such shows because they are larger than life in canvas. People are keen to know the facts instead of watching fiction and interested to know about Indian culture that connects us to the history of India. It is always good to play mythological characters. There are hardly any disadvantages except for the one at a personal level that is you have to carry those costumes for 12 to 14 hours a day. When it comes to audience these shows get more response abroad as the people living there are more keen to know about India that the people here.”

Karan also shared that he shares a great rapport with Ashish Sharma who plays Ram. “He is a wonderful actor and a co-star. I enjoy working with him and we share a good rapport.  We come on the sets together; eat together and it's been wonderful working with him. He is like a family.”
