This is how 'Porus’ team feels at home in Gujarat

MUMBAI: The team of Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Porus is making sure to leave no stone unturned when it comes to impeccable performances and perfect characterisation. In order to do this, the actors have been staying at Umbergaon, Gujarat since almost a year now as the sets have been set up there.

While the producers have made sure to make the actors as comfortable as possible, the actors have also been revamping their houses in Umbergaon to make them as homely as possible.

"I have painted the walls red, in keeping with the psyche of my character," says actor Rohit Purohit, who plays the role of Alexander in the film. The makers have also given him a big TV set, the same one which he has in his own house, back in Mumbai.

The actor also makes frequent trips back home so that he doesn’t get homesick. "If I get two days off, I go to Mumbai, catch up with friends and run my errands. But, if the break is just for a day, it's pointless," he says.

Laksh, who plays the title role in the show, on the other hand, has kept a pet for company. "When I was in Mumbai, I would call friends over after a shoot or go out for movies. I can't do that anymore over here. So here, I come back home to my dog. Playing with her relieves me of stress,” he says.

Since they are all away from home, the unit members have bonded with one another. "After a hard day of work, we play football or cricket. We're one big family,” says Laksh.

This has also given the actors a chance to pursue their hobbies, something which they had no time for in Mumbai. "I'm learning the guitar and trying my hand at singing. I am so glad I could finally do this!” says Rohit.

Of course, the schedules as well as the long distance are posing many challenges in their personal lives, but they are dealing with it. "Since the network is horrible here, it's difficult to make calls or talk for long. But Sheena (Bajaj, girlfriend) understands that the show is important for my career,” says Rohit.
