MUMBAI: Love Aaj Kal 2020 is a rehash of Love Aaj Kal 2009, which starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. Both films are directed by Imtiaz Ali. 

Imtiaz managed to weave his magic among the audiences and the critics with films such as Rockstar, Jab We Met, and Tamasha, but has failed to impress them with Harry met Sejal and now Love Aaj Kal 2020.  

Love Aaj Kal has a poor story line, weak direction, and a confusing screenplay. The movie is set in two eras, 1990 and 2020, where the leading pair's complex relationships are explored.

The movie starts in the 1990s, but the abrupt beginning fails to form any connect with the audience.

Coming to the performances, Kartik Aryan as Veer/Raghu has done a good job and has enhanced the comic parts quite gracefully. Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan looks smashing hot but definitely needs to work on her acting skills, especially in emotional scenes, where it looked like she is trying too hard.

Moreover, debutant Arushi Sharma, who is seen in a few scenes only in the first half, has done a decent job, and Randeep Hooda also gives a impressive performance.

Director Imtiaz Ali, who has written the screenplay as well as the story, fails miserably in pleasing the audience this time, leaving all of us confused even towards the end of the film.

The music of Love Aaj Kal 2009 comprised several chartbuster hits. However, the music give by Pritam this time around is weak and not at all catchy. 

Love Aaj Kal, which releases today, is strictly for Kartik, Sara, and Imtiaz fans.
