While Jab We Met and Highway are one of his best films the director said that the casting would have been different had he gone with his original plan.

However there was a time when he also acted in a film on the insistence of his friend Anug Kashyap. The film we are talking about is the controversial film Black Friday.

The lead pair of Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal (2020), Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, were once rumored to be in a relationship a few years ago. Their romantic link gained attention after Sara confessed her crush on Kartik during her appearance on Karan Johar's talk show, Koffee with Karan.
