MUMBAI: The television industry is coming back on track after a span of almost three months now. Shoots have finally resumed and all the teams are adhering to the guidelines set by the government. Proper sanitization and hygine is being maintained and the social distancing norms are being followed. 

However, the pandemic has affected the industry to the extent that a lot of shows decided to shut shop. The makers pulled the plug on certain shows and for some of the other who have continued to air, there are alterations in the starcast for varied reasons.

TellyChakkar reported about actress Shikha Singh, who recently embraced motherhood by delivering a baby girl, quit Zee TV’s popular drama Kumkum Bhagya as she wants to spend time with her newborn (Read here: Shikha Singh QUITS Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya?)

The makers are looking for her replacement and apparently we hear that talented actress Barkha Sengupta is in talks to depict the role of Aliya. The final decision is yet to be taken by the makers.

We could not get through Barkha for a comment.

Barkha is known for her stint in shows like Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi, Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman, Naamkarann and movies like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela amongst others.
