MUMBAI: Zee TV's one of the most beloved shows - Kumkum is one of the most beloved TV shows for it's spicy and twisty plotline.

Being helmed by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms production and with a plotline based on Jane Austen's 1811 novel Sense and Sensibility, Kumkum Bhagya premiered on April 15, 2014, on Zee TV and it also digitally streams on ZEE 5. 

Kumkum Bhagya stars Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia as the prime leads and lead couple of Abhi and Pragya; while Pooja Banerjee, Mugdha Chaphekar and Krishna Kaul play the parallel leads and couples of Rhea, Prachi and Ranbir. There are a galore of many other telly actors and actresses as a part of this show's cast line, which is still airing on-screen after seven successful years.

Today, we're going to take a note of  Kumkum Bhagya's pivotal cast members like Sriti Jha, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Mugdha Chaphekar, Pooja Banerjee and Krishna Kaul's on-screen debut roles and shows. Scroll down for the deets:

1. Sriti Jha

Sriti plays the role of Pragya herein. For the unversed, Jha made her television debut in the 2007 teen drama Dhoom Machaao Dhoom, which aired on Disney Channel (India). She played drummer Malini Sharma herein.

2. Shabir Ahluwalia

Shabir, who plays Abhishek (Abhi) Mehra herein, had debuted with the 1998 teen show Hip Hip Hurray, which aired on Zee TV. In this show, he played the episodic cameo role of Purab (Prishita's brother). 

3. Mugdha Chaphekar

For the unversed, Mugdha, who plays Pragya-Abhi's younger twin daughter and Ranbir's on-screen wife Prachi, made her first-ever showbiz debut as a child artiste in the Bollywood movie named Aazmayish. This film released in 1995 and starred Dharmendra, Anjali Jathar and the movie's director's son Rohit Kumar, who had also debuted in Bollywood with this project. However, not much is known about Mugdha's character herein.

4. Pooja Banerjee

Pooja Banerjee (aka Pooja Sandeep Sejwal) plays Pragya-Abhi's elder twin daughter Rhea in Kumkum Bhagya. She occasionally turns into an antagonist herein. However, before embarking upon the showbiz industry, Pooja was a professional athlete as a national-level swimmer and had represented the Indian state of Maharashtra at the national level swimming tournaments, by swimming the 5 km sea race in the Arabian Sea.  

5. Krishna Kaul

Lastly, Krishna plays Ranbir Kohli herein, Prachi's former boyfriend and current husband and Abhi-Pragya's son-in-law. He had debuted in the 2019 romantic teen drama Puncch Beat, wherein he played the role of the antagonist named Roy. He had also contested in the extreme reality show Roadies Real Hero.
