MUMBAI : 2022 has not been a great year for Bollywood, and while many male superstars have failed to make a mark at the box office, we have one female superstar ruling the big screens with back-to-back successes. We are talking about none other than Tabu. 

In Bollywood, we have always heard that an actress’ career has a very short period, and then they are mainly seen in supporting roles and are never seen as the leads. But, Tabu has been breaking this norm for the past many years, and today, when we look at the box office collection of Bollywood films in 2022, the actress has proved to be one of the most successful actresses of the year.

Apart from Tabu, we have Alia who has given three back-to-back hits with Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, and Brahmastra. But, Tabu has truly proved that it’s not the age, and if you select good scripts, you can rule the silver screens even in the 50s.  

Tabu started her career in the 90s and most of her contemporaries are either playing supporting roles or hardly doing any movies. But, the Haider actress has been consistent in doing films and giving hits. If we look at her last five films, Drishyam 2, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (Telugu movie), De De Pyaar De, and Andhadhun, all five films have been hits. Clearly, not many actresses have such a hit ratio.

Now, the actress has three films lined up, Kuttey, Khufiya, and Bholaa. Kuttey and Bholaa will be theatrical releases and Khufiya will premiere on Netflix. We simply can’t wait to watch her in these films.
