Audience Perspective! Is Ranbir Kapoor taking the correct decision of not doing rom-coms after his film with Shraddha Kapoor?

MUMBAI: Ranbir Kapoor is known as the chocolate boy of Bollywood and he has done many romantic comedies like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Anjaana Anjaani, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and others. Even in his last release Brahmastra, romance was an integral part of the storyline

Ranbir will next be seen in Luv Ranjan’s untitled next which stars Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead. Recently, at a film festival, while interacting with the media, Ranbir stated that his film with Luv Ranjan will be one of his last romantic comedies as he is getting old.

Well, on one hand, it’s good to see a mainstream actor accepting his age, Ranbir is known for his romance and comedies on the other. So, is it the correct decision that the actor is taking?

We spoke to a few people about it, and here’s what they have to say about Ranbir’s decision…

Meera: We love Ranbir in romantic comedies and he should not stop doing it. He is just 40 and he is already taking a back seat. That's sad!

Vicky: Finally, at least one actor agrees that he is getting old. Ranbir should concentrate on serious roles and I can’t wait to watch him in Animal.

Farhad: Ranbir can do serious films and also maybe once in a while do a romantic comedy. He should not just stop it immediately or completely.

Sahil: It all depends on the box office collection of Ranbir and Shraddha’s film. If it does well at the box office, Ranbir should continue to do rom-coms, but if it flops then he should not.

Dipti: Ranbir should do rom-coms, people aren’t much interested in watching him in drama and action films, and the box office disaster of Shamshera proves it. Rom-coms suit his personality more.
