On the special occasion of Dusshera, Rab Se Hai Dua actress Aditi Sharma shares her thoughts.
Aditi Sharma who essays the role of Dua in Zee TV's Rabb Se Hai Dua said, “Dussehra holds a special place in my heart because I have so many memories of this festival. I remember when I was a kid, me and my family used to visit the nearby pandal to watch the Ramleela in Delhi every day (9 days of Navratri) and on 10th day which is Dussehra (also known as Vijayadashami) we used to visit the open ground to see the burning of effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhakarna and his son Meghanada. These effigies are usually filled with firecrackers and are set ablaze on a grand spectacle, symbolizing the destruction of evil. Moreover, Ravana was the most intelligent Brahmin ever, so it is also said that the burnt wood from the statue of Ravana were to be brough back home and keep that on the study table as it helps you to perform better in your studies. Me and brother were used to do the same. Also, I feel, this festival brings people together, fosters a sense of unity, and instills the values of righteousness, courage, and moral integrity.
