We all are aware that Parvati from Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (Life OK) is being played by the gorgeous Puja Bose. To our surprise, the same Puja Bose was referred to as Puja Banerjee at the launch of Govinda’s music video ‘Gori Tere Naina’. And not even once did Puja attempt to correct anyone who called her Banerjee instead of Bose. Now we have heard of actors changing their names after astrological consultation. But that has more or less been restricted to their first name. In Puja’s case her entire surname had gone for a toss - from Bose to Banerjee. Baffled at this radical change in her surname, we decided to indulge in some sleuthing. Going on the hunting mode, our sources whispered that Puja was married some years back, thus getting the surname Bose. Prior to that she was Puja Banerjee (from her father’s side). Now as per the grapevine, Puja, after tasting success and smiling to the flashlights, treaded a different path and left her husband, who was a simple non-industry individual. She later fell in love with actor Kunal Verma. Said a source: “Yes, she was married but then she fell in love with Kunal. Kunal and Puja are still together and recently Puja got divorced officially from her marriage.” Thus, now she wants to get rid of her past nuptial shadows and stick to her original parental identity of being Puja Banerjee. We dialed Puja’s publicist who confirmed to us that Puja was earlier married but now she has split from her husband. When we asked him who her ex-husband was, the publicist beat a hasty retreat. All that we were able to eke out of him was ‘Puja’s husband was not from the industry.’ Puja, though plays a Goddess on screen, has had a rather spicy and checkered life off careen. She kissing good friend Sara Khan on lips publicly created a quite a buzz in the media. Interestingly, Puja was recently quoted saying that she would like to have a husband like Mahadev (played by Mohit Raina in the show). May be her ex-husband was not the ideal Mahadev for our on-screen Parvati, perhaps. When we got in touch with Puja, she said, “Bose is just my screen name. But my real surname is Banerjee and I have decided to use it from now on.” However, she was in a rush and did not answer to our other queries.
