Kanishka Soni 'disappointed' with the early closure of Life OK's Do Dil Ek Jaan

Kanishka Soni joined the cast of the post leap phase of Life OK’s Do Dil.. Ek Jaan with great hopes!! Brought in to essay the character of Manjari in the Nautanki Telefilms show, Kanishka terms it as rather ‘shocking’ to see such an early end to the serial. Says the actress, “It is very shocking for me that Do Dil Ek Jaan is coming to an end so soon, especially when so much had been promised. After playing Daisa’s bahu in the popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum and after being seen as Shani Dev’s wife in Devon Ke Dev.. Mahadev, this role of playing wife to Akshay Dogra had quite a lot in offer. Also, the fact that I had decided to shift from south movies to TV shows makes this stint in Jaan all the more disappointing.” Kanishka who has acted in three South movies, Devaraya opposite Srikant, Yuvrajyam with Venkat and as the second lead opposite comedy star Vivek in Pathayeram Kodi was narrated a good story line post the leap in Jaan. “My character of Manjari would have indeed got the recognition as the story post leap was something away from the saas-bahu sagas. The story would have seen the transition of Manjari’s life, from being sad, under-confident to a happy woman. There were supposed to be quite a lot of variations too in my character.” Anyways, looking forward, Kanishka is presently in talks for a new show. “I am basically in talks, but nothing is finalized at the moment.” Alas!! This is exactly why TV is so unpredictable… We wish you luck!!!
