MUMBAI:Vani Jairam, one of the most well-known Indian playback singers, is no more. She was found dead at her home in Chennai on 4th February, Saturday. Vani aged 78 was recently awarded with Padma Bhushan award, which is regarded as the third highest civilian award. Reports say that she was found dead at her house on Haddows Road, Nungambakkam, in Chennai.

The investigation is still underway, and a forensics team had reached the house in the evening and collected some samples. This is indeed a big loss; she has been a professional singer for 50 years now and has recorded over 10,000 songs.

Vani Jairam has collaborated with many well-known composers across different industries and has made some classic chartbusters. The talented singer has numerous songs in multiple languages – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Tulu, and even Oriya. She has performed many times throughout the country and even across the world. She has won the National Film Awards for the Best Female Playback Singer three times. She has also been bestowed with awards from the states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, and Odisha.

She has also worked with legendary composers like MS Viswanathan Ilaiyaraaja, RD Burman, KV Mahadevan, OP Nayyar and Madan Mohan, and more.

She plays the role of Sonam in the show and charges Rs. 35,000 per episodes per reports.

The show is doing very well and the audiences are very engrossed in the current drama where Sonam has taken sleeping pills and Nityam goes to save her.
