MUMBAI: Star Plus’ new show Imlie is going to hit the TV screens soon.
Actress Sumbul Touqeer Khan will be seen as Imlie while Gashmeer Mahajani is playing the male lead.
Imlie, who says 'Gaon Ke Hai Gawar Nahi', is a simple village girl with simple dreams. Gashmeer Mahajani who is a journalist shares a lovely time with Imlie in the village. Unfortunately, both Imlie and Gashmeer get trapped when it rains hard at midnight. They take shelter inside a hut and when the villagers find them, they misunderstand their relation.
The beautiful friendship which blossomed during Gashmeer's stay in the village ultimately turns into an unwanted marriage relationship. The cruel villagers turn to kill him but to save his life Imlie sacrifices her life. Imlie gets tied in an unwanted marital relationship with the journalist and is forced to spend her whole life with him.

The shocking part of the story is that someone special is already there in the life of Gashmeer Mahajani's character (actress Mayuri Deshmukh's character). After reaching the city, Imlie’s heart breaks when Gashmeer's girlfriend hugs him.
How will Imlie live her life in this unwanted relation? And how will Gashmeer's character manage his life?
