<p>Today on his birthday, writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar spilled the beans on the 1973 hit film Zanjeer that changed the trajectory of&nbsp; Big B’s career completely.</p>

His Eid releases have made Salman Khan and his fans proud since the last four years because they turned out to be stupendous hits. Starting from <em>Wanted</em> in 2009, he followed it up with <em>Dabangg</em> (2010), <em>Bodyguard</em> (2011) and <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em> in 2012. Now, Salman is all set to announce his big film for Eid 2013 with him reportedly buying the remaking rights of the 2006 Telugu superhit <em>Stalin</em>. He will reprise the pivotal role played by superstar Chiranjeevi in the hit film.

Among a lot of talks of Sohail Khan’s <em>Sher Khan</em> hitting a roadblock, Salman Khan has green lighted another film that will go on floors next year. The actor's next with brother Sohail is named after Radhe his famous long-haired avatar in the 2003 hit film <em>Tere Naam</em>. Averred Salman, "I am doing Sohail's film <em>Radhe</em> but this is just a working title as of now." Plans of revisiting the famous character is still in the nascent stage. Details are being worked out.

Contrary to reports that Salman Khan has changed plans for his Eid 2013 release and is now looking at remaking a South Indian film to be completed in time for Eid it has now come to light that <em>Sher Khan</em> is still on. But with a different title. Says a source close to the project. “For reasons best known to Salman he has decided to change his character’s name. He won’t be called Sher Khan in the film. Otherwise Sohail is still directing the same script.”

The human ‘Tiger’ Salman Khan will share screen space with a computer-generated tiger in Sohail Khan’s <em>Sher Khan</em>. Contrary to reports in media claiming that Sohail Khan’s film <em>Sher Khan</em> has been “canned”, the film is all set to roll in January 2013.

Fans prefer to see Salman Khan as …well, Salman Khan. Apparently get-ups and disguises don’t work for this matinee idol. Sure, he sported a moustache in <em>Dabangg</em>. But that’s about it. All plans to give Salman an elaborate ‘look’ of a Pathan for <em>Sher Khan</em> have been now been dropped. Much to the distributors and his fans’ relief, Salman would now look like his normal self.

Since, the last three years, Salman Khan indisputably ruled the box office during the Eid festival, with his films like <em>Dabangg, Bodyguard</em> and this year’s <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em>. In a way it can be said that Salman created a new festive weekend for Eid and literally conquered the ticket windows with back-to-back blockbusters. A few days ago, it was being said that Salman’s original Eid 2013 release <em>Sher Khan</em> had been kept at the backburner. Taking advantage of the vacant space, Shah Rukh decided to release his <em>Chennai Express</em> on Eid 2013.

Fans of Salman Khan can rejoice. The superstar’s Eid release has been decided. It’s going to be the tough fantasy-action-adventure thriller <em>Sher Khan</em> after all.
