Jharkhand-born Sanjeev Jaiswal who in hiding, has been ostracized by his family and friends in his home town in Jharkhand for playing Kasab. After playing the most hated man in India in Ram Gopal Varma’s <em>The Attacks Of 26/11</em> Sanjeev Jaiswal has understandably been flooded with hate-mail and brickbats.

On the day he spoke to Tellychakkar.com in an interview that that It was not true that Sanjeev Jaiswal, who has played Ajmal Kasab in <em>The Attacks of 26/11</em>, has gone into hiding but was deliberately kept away to create a feeling of extreme reality when audiences see him on screen for the first time, the same evening Ram Gopal Varma introduced the actor to the media.

Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani attended a special screening of The Attacks of 26/11 in Delhi yesterday. The senior leader was present along with various other leaders who cut across party lines to watch the film. An emotionally moved Advani who was moved to tears exclaimed “Brilliant” soon after coming out of the screening. Others present at the screening were Shah Nawaz Hussain, Sanjay Nirupam, Naveen Jindal, Balbir Punj, Raj Babbar among others. The whole lot of politicians was stunned after watching the film. Later, an excited Varma tweeted:

We then hear another round of gunfire and then, the child’s weeping ceases.

This weekend’s releases come with some amount of baggage. Explosive baggage. While Ram Gopal Varma’s <em>The Attacks Of 26/11</em> raises nightmarish memories of the gruesome incident of 2008 that changed the profile of terror attacks forever, this week’s other release brings us bitter memories of John Abraham’s last rom-com, writer-director Abbas Tyrewala’s <em>Jhootha Hi Sahi</em>.

When one talks about the terrible 26/11/ 2008 terror attacks, images of the burning dome of the Taj, the empty CST station, the bullet marks at Leopold Café and the peaceful candlelight march come flooding back into the mind.
