Sukriti Saxena, Head of Fiction, Esselvision on her 'Tashan-E-Ishq' experience

Sukriti Saxena, Head of Fiction, Esselvision

Tashan-E-Ishq, the newest launch on Zee TV has been the biggest launch of their in-house production, Esselvision Productions so far!!

Well, the show which gives an authentic Punjabi flavour has opened up to good numbers in the first week, bagging a 2.2 TVR.

And here is Sukriti Saxena, Head of Fiction, Esselvision in conversation with Tellychakkar.com over her fruitful journey of coming up with a good final product.

Says Sukriti, “Esselvision is a brilliant company and Akash Chawla, Nitin Keni, my bosses and the producers of EVPL, trust my vision. The work on Tashan-E-Ishq has been on from September last year, so it feels nice to see the baby now.”

Sukriti who has helmed the very successful Balaji Telefilms shows, Pavitra Rishta and Kumkum Bhagya earlier, has yet again worked with her ‘dream team’ on Tashan-E-Ishq. Giving them a special mention, Sukriti tells, “Shibani Dasgupta (CD), Fayaz (art director), Rajan Singh (DoP), Tripti Arora (Costume Designer), Rehman, Devyani (make-up and hair) and the newest one in the list, Tina Dharamsay (Set designer) are the people who exactly know what I want and they execute it to their best. Trust me, making the set of Tashan-E-Ishq has been the best experience ever. Last but not the least, Punjabi writers Harneet and Divyana, have added in the Punjabi tadka to the show.”

She goes on, “Santram Verma, my director was fabulous, and my editor Sanjeev Shukla has been brilliant. My writer Amit Babbar got the concept to me and I loved it. We went mad developing it, and the best part was that the story writers always had something new to offer at the desk. It was a brilliant experience with the entire team.”

Casting, we hear was a big task for the entire team, and they managed to crack the best of faces that really suited what they had on paper.

At this point, one interesting similarity that Sukriti has to share is her ‘connect’ with the protagonist in the show, Jasmin Bhasin. “Well, it was indeed a herculean task to get the apt female face. And when Jasmin walked into my cabin after being short-listed, we got to know of our ‘Rajasthani’ connect. As we talked, we found out that both of us were from Kota in Rajasthan, with our schooling from the same school.”

Last but not the least, reacting to the good opening rating on the show, Sukriti avers, “Yes, this has been a biggie for Esselvision. We are really happy to have crossed the 2 TVR mark in the first week. This really boosts us up for the bigger challenge with the story going forward.”

Best of luck, team Tashan-E-Ishq!!
