5 Reasons why we will miss Maharana Pratap

5 Reasons why we will miss Maharana Pratap

Period drama series hold a special place in our hearts. Apart from taking us to the era, period shows also give us a glimpse into the lives of the Maharajas and Maharanis. One of the most valiant and brave warriors to make history was arguably Maharana Pratap of Rajasthan.

His glorious reign of over twenty five years saw many progresses in the nation, which was beautifully captured on Sony TV’s Bharat Ka Veer Putra- Mahrana Pratap. With the show winding up, we list out five reasons why we are going to sorely miss it…read on:

The interesting strategies of war:

Strategizing is everything: He single-handedly strategized battle theories to ward off the Mughals. Even though most of the battles with the Mughals resulted in stalemates, it was Maharana’s quick thinking and natural instinct that gave the Rajputs the hold over their territory.

Won’t you miss watching nuggets of history in a nutshell? How else would we have known about the enterprising Rajputs without a show on their most fiery leader?

Acting skills of the lead:

We are definitely going to miss watching the crackling jodi of Sharad Malhotra and Rachana Parulkar. While the former was dashing and suave as the Maharani, Rachana was sweet, sophisticated and feisty as his first and most beloved wife Maharani Ajabde.

They not only played their characters to perfection, but also made a firm place in our lives as the quintessential royal couple.  Glamorous, charming, dedicated and grand. They were everything we have wanted to be.

We will miss the romance:

The mighty ruler may have had eleven wives, but his absolute favourite and the only one he loved unconditionally was his first wife, Mahrani Ajabde. She stuck with him through the ups and downs. While his other wives were political alliances, Ajabde was the one who helped Rana wade through the mess of wars and fights. We are definitely going to miss the two as they were a walking lesson on relationships, especially at a time when we have fickle love affairs and sordid cheating-ons.

The grandness:

From the lavish sets to the gorgeous clothes, everything about the show was mesmerising. The palatial palaces and exquisite set-ups made for a stunning spectacle.

The wars:

What’s a warrior story without wars? Mahrana fought many battles with the Mughals, which were portrayed beautifully on the show. If horse-riding gave us hobby goals, the sword-fights made us go gaga. We also wished to enrol into such classes, didn’t we?
