We usually tend to have busy days in and around Diwali, with people coming over and also with exciting plans and ideas... 

We at Tellychakkar.com took our time out to talk to quite a few Telly Producers to get to know how their Diwali will be celebrated!!

Rajan Shahi – Director’s Kut

Diwali will be spent with family and friends. I will go out for dinner. I always look at Diwali as a special occasion. And for the team of Yeh Rishta, every Diwali celebrated on the set is a bonus. Considering the fact that we started the show 8 years back, and are still going strong with the same vigour gives us pleasure. The entire DKP family gets an off during Diwali. And it’s certainly time to celebrate.

Abhimanyu Singh – Contiloe Pictures   

I will be celebrating this Diwali with my family at home. There will be lots of things to look forward to with my family especially participating in the pooja, followed by some fun time with crackers, sweets, etc.

Nikhil Sinha – Triangle Films

Diwali will be a day with family, and that makes it special always. Above all, kids love festivals like Diwali and Holi. And for me, Diwali is a day where I never work. This Diwali will be special for the fact that we have made the show Siya Ke Ram. When you understand the core details of our mythology, it is always special celebrating the festival. 

Siddharth Malhotra – Alchemy Films Pvt. Ltd.

Diwali for me has always been with family, and that’s what matters to me the most. It will be a time to be with my parents, wife, sister and kids and my "besties" who are friends since the past 14 years. This year we are all doing our Pooja at the office of my new production company Alchemy Films Pvt Ltd, which will be followed by a fun filled evening with them and kids.

Nivedita Basu – The House of Originals

My Diwali plan is to have a ‘blessed year’. I want to involve myself in good productions which are commercially successful. I also want to do parallel properties apart from TV shows like Digital IPS and also graduate to films. I will also spend my pre-Diwali bash with friends by playing cards for good luck. The day of Diwali will be purely for my family – my hubby, in-laws and deeyas. 

Sunjoy Waddhwa – Sphereorigins Multivision Pvt. Ltd

Diwali being the festival of lights and celebrations, we at Sphereorigins have our office decorated with lights, flowers and rangoli. We also have a traditional Laxmi poojan followed by a lunch with our team. We spend quality time with each other. The evening is dedicated to the family where we have a small Pooja followed with an authentic dinner.

Kavita Barjatya – Kavita Barjatya Productions

Well, it is a low-key Diwali this year for us. We lost one of our cousins (Rajjat Barjatya) few months back. Otherwise, I will go to a temple and of course, involve myself in a Laxmi Poojan. Wish all a very Happy Diwali!!

Deeya Singh – DJ’s – A Creative Unit

Personally, I have physically cleaned up all my cupboards. Diwali becomes a great excuse for me to basically de-clutter; I now feel more light and nice. My house is all full of flowers and decorations and that makes me happy. Our office is getting renovated and will be ready for Diwali. Work wise, we will have a puja in office with our team. On the day of Diwali, we will have friends coming over. All of them land up in our house after their puja. My son is not here this time, so we will be face-timing with him. We love to sit in the terrace; we cook everything at home. The idea is to involve our elders in all the celebrations; so we will have that tradition alive of being with elders. So the next day we get our well-deserved holiday.

Our team is our family, so we spent the day of Dhanteras with them. We indulged in a pooja and then spent time with them. On Diwali, we will do a pooja at home, light lamps. We will not indulge in fire-crackers. It will be a day with colors. We also have a ‘langar’ in the noon on the day of Diwali, where we feed people. We then have a late ‘Thali lunch’ at home with family. We laugh, play with our kids. We have an ‘Open Day’ during Diwali, and there are people coming over. The day is all about meet and greet.

The relevance of this celebration is what I find the most amazing - the victory of good over evil. So it's God’s way of telling us that we should fight evil of every kind. So I hope Diwali gives us the strength to fight the evils outside and courage to fight the ones inside us. And then celebrate the victories by spreading the light, for us and for our future generations.

Mahesh Pandey – Trishulla Productions

Diwali is always special to me as I have lot of nice memories celebrating the festival. As a kid, we used to involve ourselves in bursting crackers, and that was the best part of the festival. We used to be taken to a hotel on every Diwali, and I as a kid used to relish eating Masala Dosa. So it’s nice to relive all the pleasant memories, and Diwali helps me do that. Basically, I will be celebrating it with my family; we will have a puja at home. 

Saurabh Tewari – Parin Multimedia  

Well, there is no specific Diwali plan this year. It is going to be a working Diwali for us, as we will be starting shoot for our new show. Also, I will be going to Mehak set in Delhi to be with them. 

Ajinkya Deo – Ramesh Deo Productions      

Well, Diwali is always time with family. It is a time to meet people and friends. Professionally, we will wish and pray for more work; we desire to do something different and nice every time we are seen on screen.

Diwali is all about rendering prayers. Also, that will be one day when I can stay away from my mobile, as there will be no shoot happening. I will wish to sleep and ward off my exhaustion. Also, this Diwali is special as we have Badho Bahu on air. God has been really kind, and I look forward to continue doing good work.

My Diwali will be like every year, celebrating with my family and stuffing myself with lots of food and sweets!! Diwali for me is more about spreading joy and celebrating with family, friends and my team. It is an occasion to connect with people and spread love, which we generally forget in our daily soap lives.

Diwali is all about loved ones. Since I don’t have family in Mumbai, my family are my dearest friends. So I will be playing and partying with them. Diwali to me means to spread love and happiness.

Time with friends, going out for dinner and movies, bhajan and pooja at our place are on the cards. On Diwali night, it will be an eventful time with fire crackers followed by a party. 31st is our New Year (Gujarati), so there will be a pooja in the noon followed by meeting and greeting family and relatives. It will be followed by Bhai Dooj, wife and her family and later with my sister. 

The biggest high for us this Diwali is that my parents are here in Mumbai with us. Otherwise usually they are at Mathura. So this will be one of the happier Diwali for me. Nostalgic will be the feeling as the entire family will be together.

It will be a working Diwali for us. I will go to my friends’ places wherein I have been invited for party. My best Diwali memory is of my childhood when we used to burst crackers on the terrace, even when people used to shout not to aim at their buildings.

Diwali is my most favourite festival. It fills me with love and light and good cheer. The whole atmosphere is filled with good energy. Life seems brighter; darkness leads to light is what it signifies. Also it indicated to all problems passing off and light prevailing. I will celebrate Diwali with friends, with food and fun and lights.

Diwali has always been special as I bought the first car of my career years back during Diwali. It is a festival of friendship and bonding over religion.
