As we grow up, the meaning of life changes and so do the meaning of occasions, festivals and special days! But there are certain days and events that remain precious to us no matter how aged we become and friendship is one of them as philosopher, theologian and jurist Thomas Aquinas said ‘there is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship’.

So, by keeping the occasion of friendship day in mind, Tellychakkar.com caught up with a few Bong actors to know their opinion on whether we are too grown up to celebrate friendship day.   

Ritabhari Chakraborty: I think we are never too old to celebrate anything as long as we believe in the occasion or day. I am juggling between shoots and events; I don’t remember when it comes but I do not undermine the idea that it’s a special day for many. So, when a sudden call or text comes from a friend quoting ‘Happy Friendship Day’, it always brings a smile on my face.

Aparajita Ghosh Das: I don’t celebrate friendship day. Actually I don’t believe in any ‘day’. Everyday is a celebration of every relationship.

Rahul Banerjee: Friendship is a very informal thing. You celebrate friendship in your heart not on specific days.  

Pujarini Ghosh:  We are never too old to celebrate life, love and friendship. And we should celebrate that everyday. Friends are our life support and friendship must be celebrated to let our friends know how thankful we are to have them in our life and how important they are to us. But yeah, it’s important to choose the right people before calling them friends and to stay absolutely honest and loyal in friendship.

Amrita Chattopadhyay:  Well, during school days, friendship day was one of a kind! Friendship was measured by the number of friendship bands one used to get. Since Rakhi and friendship day was closer by we used to combine both at times. I was in a co-ed school, boys were ready to wear friendship bands from us but not Rakhi! So, we had to mention whether it was just friendship band or Rakhi. Now-a-days, friends are limited. Over time we realize who are our real friends. And for that we don’t need a day to celebrate anymore I guess. 

Sonalee Chaudhuri:  In my opinion, friendship has no age. I will celebrate as long as I wish.

Indrajit Chakravarty: Friendship doesn’t have an age bracket! It can be celebrated at any age.
