MUMBAI : Imlie proves that Nirmala hid her exam admit card. Nirmala agrees and says she hid Imlie’s admit card to for the family’s sake, Imlie disrespects Indira and other elders when she is illiterate and will humiliate them once she completes her studies, she will not do household chores at all, etc. She returns admit card after Imlie insists. Indira takes card and tells Surya that as per their family rule, women take care of the house and she wants to know if Imlie will do that after completing her studies. Imlie refuses and says she wants to study well and become a journalist. Indira tears her admit card and says this paper doesn’t have any place in this house.

Imlie breaks down seeing that and picks torn bits. She tries to rejoin her admit card. Hemalatha walks to her, pampers her, and says Indira is not completely wrong and will be happy if Imlie serves the family loyally and follows her responsibility. Imlie says service is serving god, but forcefully obeying someone is wrong. Hemalatha asks if she means following responsibility is wrong, she had got many dance performance offers from many institutes after marriage, but she chose to take care of her husband and child. Imlie talks about women empowerment and not facing atrocities by husband and family.

Surya calls education board to request for a duplicate admit card. Arjun walks to him and says he should have supported Anjali and opposed Indira and Nirmala. Surya says instead of creating more issues at home, he is trying to find a solution. Mahesh walks to them and says Surya is right, they shouldn’t pay so much attention to women’s demands, women always crib and then calm down, even Hemalatha used to crib a lot and he shut her mouth. Arjun asks him not to speak ill about his mother. Mahesh yells at him and shoos him away. He then continues to teach Surya.

Imlie calls Pallo and informs how Indira tore her admit card. Pallo says she shouldn’t study if her MIL doesn’t want her to and dare not try to break her marriage and return home and break Bulbul’s alliance there. Imlie says it’s her right to study and work, etc. Pallo doesn’t listen to her a bit. Imlie feeling disheartened works in kitchen. Surya walks to her and says he wants to speak. She says she is always free now to listen to him and starts taunting him for not supporting her. Surya holds her hand and takes her out. He calls whole and informs them that he is going to Banares with Imlie tomorrow. CJ asks what is there in Banares. Surya says there is a long process to reapply for duplicate admit card, so he will visit education board’s head office in Banares and get the card in a day. Mahesh says he already taught him so much not to pay attention to women’s demands, but he didn’t listen to him. Surya says women are not aliens, they care for us and run their house, etc., so they deserve respect..
